Labour Party Denies Releasing Campaign TimeTable Currently In Circulation

The Labour Party has denied releasing a political campaign timetable which is currently trending on social media. A statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary,  Comrade Arabambi Abayomi  denied the authenticity of the campaign council program, insisting that the Labour Party leadership is not aware of it.  The statement read; "It's therefore a means to set the record straight that Labour Party whose presidential candidate is Mr Peter Gregory Obi has neither authorized anyone to issues any campaign council program on behalf of the party nor has any one from the campaign council seek (sic) the nod of the party leadership over same subject matter." The party therefore informed all media organizations to discountenance the said campaign council rallies.

Yobe North: Lawan Accepts Court Judgement Depriving Him Of APC Ticket

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has said that he would not appeal the judgement delivered on Wednesday by the Federal High Court, Damaturu, in Yobe State with respect to the forthcoming Yobe North Senatorial District elections. The judgement had declared that Bashir Machina was the rightful candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe North Senatorial ticket which the party had tried to hand to Lawan after he failed to get a consensus ticket o the ruling party for the office of President. The Labour Party has called for the immediate redeployment of the Katsina state Commissioner of Police, Idris Dauda Dabban for negligence in sitting idly while a support group for the Peter Obi presidency was attacked by a group which it described as the military wing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Breaking: Shekarau Officially Rejoins PDP In The Senate After Dumping NNPP

A month after defecting from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator  Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano Central), has officially made his defection on the floor of the Senate Wednesday. Shekarau had on Monday, August 29, 2022, defected along with thousands of his supporters to PDP from NNPP on grounds of alleged unfair treatment by the party led by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who is the Presidential candidate of the party. Court Orders INEC To Accept LP Candidate's Name For House Of Reps Election In 2023

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow the Labour Party (LP) submit the name of its candidate, Clarita Ogar, for the 2023 Cross River House of Representatives election. Justice Donatus Okorowo, in a judgement, held that the Electoral Act, 2022 is superior to INEC guidelines on elections. Justice Okorowo stated further that Section 31 of the Electoral Act, 2022 allows parties to still submit names of candidates that emerge from substitution primaries not later than 90 days to the election. He said that the electoral umpire, by its own manuals, cannot limit the time provided for by the Electoral Act. It would be recalled that Ogar emerged the LP candidate for the 2023 Yala/Ogoga Federal Constituency poll in Cross River state. However, the party could not meet up with the INEC's guidelines for the submission of Ogar's name as its candidate for the constituency. The commission had given July 15 for

A statement signed by his  Special Adviser (Media)  Ola Awoniyi, said  Lawan made the appeal in Abuja on Monday while declaring open a "High-level forum on political communications and issue-based campaign in the 2023 general elections."
