TCN Upgrades Egbin 330/132/33kV Substation With 60MVA 132/33kV Power Transformer


The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has upgraded its Egbin  330/132/33kV Transmission Substation with the installation of a 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer. The transformer which was installed by TCN in-house engineers was energized at about 13.05pm on the 2nd of March 2022. 

A statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, GM, Public Affairs at TCN said with the new 60MVA power transformer, the substation capacity to supply bulk electricity to Ikeja Electricity Distribution company has increased by 30MVA. This is because TCN has decommissioned an old 30MVA transformer within the substation, which will be serviced and moved to other areas within its network that has a history of minimal electricity demand.

The statement added that the substation capacity upgrade will ensure that more power is made available for IKEDC to take to its franchise areas within Ijeda LCDA and Ikorodu Local Government area axis.

Peter Obi Dumps PDP, Pulls Out Of Presidential Race

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and running mate to the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, has withdrawn from the presidential race. Daily Trust reports that Obi, who had gone round the country to seek the support of delegates for the presidential primary, pulled out of the exercise less than 72 hours to the contest. Twelve Persons Killed As Terrorists Attack Katsina Community

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that terrorists in the early morning of Tuesday, killed twelve people at Gakurdi village, in Jibia Local Government Area of the state. The terrorists were also said to have burnt some farmlands belonging to the residents of the village during the attack.
