Veteran Musician Victor Uwaifo Is Dead

Veteran musician, Victor Uwaifo is dead, his son, Peter De Rock confirmed on social media.


Peter took to Facebook to announce the death of his father saying, “Daddy why do you leave us now? Prof. Victor Uwaifo has gone to rest. Black Saturday for me now.”


Before his demise, Victor Uwaifo was a professor of visual arts at the University of Benin.

14-yr-old Ese Oruru regains freedom

Following a directive Monday afternoon by the Inspector General of Police to the Commissioner of Police, Kano State, Mohammed Katsina to liase with the State’s Emirate Council and relevant persons, the 14-year-old Ese Oruru was last night rescued from her abductor. Confirming the rescue in a telephone chat Monday, Force Public relations Officer, ACP Olabisi Kolawole disclosed that the Inspector General of Police has directed that Ese Oruru be giving protection adding that she will be flown to Abuja tomorrow (Tuesday to be re-united with her family. Already, it was gathered that the IGP has made arrangements to move the family to Abuja to re-unite with their daughter.

Five Persons Killed And Houses Burnt As Traders And Okada Riders Clash in Dei-Dei Abuja

At least five persons have been reportedly killed and houses set on fire in a clash between traders and okada riders at Dei Dei, a community in  Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). A resident told Daily Trust that an accident involving a bike man led to the break down of law and order in the community. “Five persons that I know have been killed in this incident. We have been calling for security intervention to no avail,” said the resident who pleaded anonymity. “We are really worried that this crisis is tilting towards ethnic dimension.” There is no independent verification on the number of casualties for now but one of the affected persons confirmed that his house was torched.
