Sam Amadi's New Year Message to Imolites

New Year Message from Dr. Sam Amadi to Ndi-Imo

January 1, 2019
“Ndi-Imo, the Salvation Awaits”

Happy New Year to the blessed people of Imo State. This would have been a beautiful year, the year of our salvation. But, sadly, it will not be. Imo, your salvation still awaits, but it shall not be too long.

Last year, I announced to Ndi-Imo that I had decided to heed the call to provide transformative, honest and competent leadership to our beloved state as the Governor of Imo State. Further to this declaration, I joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), the party that Imo people chose as a vehicle of transformation. I declared for the APGA Governorship Primary. I toured the local government areas of the state and acquainted our APGA leaders and members with the vision of change that is comprised in the Community Action Plan for Prosperity (CAPP). CAPP aims at providing 4 cottage industries for every local government area of Imo State in a year through the 100% transfer of local government allocations to the local government areas in Imo and restoration of complete democratic leadership in local government governance in Imo State. That is, 108 cottage industries employing about 108,000 new jobs in the rural communities. CAPP’s three agenda are (a) wealth creation, (b) human capital development and (c) open and clean government.

Sadly, and unexpected, the leadership of APGA betrayed the faith of Imo State and failed to conduct primary election. Later, the party awarded the ticket to the highest bidder. By so doing, the APGA foreclosed the salvation of Imo in 2019. But, God’s plan cannot be thwarted. There still remains a day for salvation. APGA has exposed Imo people to wolves in sheep clothing. APGA has deceived and betrayed Imo people. But God has not abandoned us.

I want to assure Ndi-Imo that we shall not abandon them. The New Imo Movement will after the elections organize our people to continue to fight for dignity, freedom and prosperity. We will rebuild the ruins and protect Imo from those deprivations, humiliation and ruins that Rochas visited on it. We will not abandon Imo people at the hour of trouble that will come in 2019. We will be there to mitigate the disaster and build a strong movement and sure foundations for the salvation at the time divinely appointed. Ndi-Imo don't lose hope. Your salvation awaits.

Happy New Year, great Imolites
