Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has enjoined the People’s
Democratic Party PDP faithful not to be anxious over the ruling of the Court of
Appeal, Port Harcourt, on the lingering party’s leadership crisis.
He stated
this on Friday, through a statement signed by his media aide, Uche Anichukwu in
Abuja while reacting to the Court judgment.
It would
be recalled that an Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had
earlier on Friday affirmed the former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff as
the authentic Chairman of the PDP.
Ekweremadu
in his reaction said there is no cause for alarm as the party leadership will
meet as soon as possible to take a decision on the best way forward.
He condemned
the attitude of some Nigerians whom he said were dreaming about the death of
the opposition in Nigeria, adding that they will have to sleep much longer, and
still wake up to meet the PDP much stronger because a vibrant opposition is the
beauty of democracy.
